These works were the beginning of an intended series in 2004. The working title is 'Woman: Guise and Disguise'. At the time I was very enthusiastic to explore my own inner thoughts and feelings and emotions and to present them in a way that would resonate with any who might view them. Though having never been comfortable with my own appearance it was always my thought that, even though the face in these images is my own, in the end they might allude to the 'general' rather than the 'particular'.
I am no longer certain that these works will ever find their place on a gallery wall and in many ways are redundant to anyone but myself. Perhaps there are times when an artist needs to create only for the purpose of pushing their own boundaries. There are several works in various stages of completion and doubtless they will eventually appear on this page.
